Here’s Your First Look at Lister’s Upcoming Hypercar

Back in the mid-1990s, British racing firm Lister designed a car called the Storm, a 7.0-liter V12-powered homologated race car, of which only four were produced. The Storm had some success in racing, but the road car has long since faded into the history books. Now, it’s back.

Lister Cars owner Lawrence Whittaker revealed yesterday via Twitter his company’s plan to bring the Storm back, in the form of a mid-engine supercar dubbed the Storm II.

There’s no official info on the Storm II other than the above picture, but Autocar reports it could receive a Jaguar-derived supercharged 7.8-liter V12 making more than 1000 horsepower. Autocar also says Lister is aiming for a 0-60 time of under three seconds, a top speed over 250 mph, and a price tag near $2.8 million. Again, none of this has been confirmed by the company itself.

Lister recently launched another new car, the Jaguar F-Type-based Thunder, just last month, and the company says it’s received a record number of orders so far. There’s no word on when (or if) the Storm II will make its real-life debut, so we’ll have to wait to know more. Stay tuned.
